The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has partnered with the United States’ Office of the Surgeon General to create public service announcements (PSAs) promoting ACSM’s Exercise is MedicineTM initiative. The PSAs feature the acting surgeon general, Rear Admiral Steven K. Galson, M.D., M.P.H., and a message encouraging physical activity.

The three PSAs, geared toward adult consumers, youth and health care professionals, were created to make the public and its influencers, such as physicians, aware of the benefits of exercise. These announcements are easily accessible via ACSM’s Web site. Members of the media, magazine editors and other publishers are invited to download the announcements to place in their publications. Health care professionals, fitness professionals and the public are also invited to download and print these PSAs as fliers and handouts. Get the PSAs at:
